Cuplock Scaffolding Price in India — Rental & Purchase Rates (2026)

September 8, 20267 min read

"How much does cuplock scaffolding cost?" is the first question almost every contractor and homeowner asks us. There is no single number — the price depends on whether you're renting or buying, how much material you need, for how long, and where your site is. This guide breaks down each of those so you can estimate a realistic figure before you call for a quote.

Cuplock is Priced by Weight

Cuplock scaffolding is manufactured from tubular steel (48.3 mm outer diameter, 3.2 mm or 4.0 mm wall), so both purchase and rental pricing ultimately trace back to weight in kilograms. A heavier-gauge, hot-dip galvanised system costs more per kg than a lighter painted one, but lasts far longer on site.

Purchase Price

  • Basis: quoted per kg of finished material, then multiplied by the total weight of your component list
  • What raises it: 4.0 mm wall vs 3.2 mm, hot-dip galvanising vs paint, forged (not pressed) ledger blades, test certificates
  • What lowers it: bulk tonnage, standard sizes only, painted finish for short-life use
  • As a rule of thumb, budget on a per-kg rate for the system and a separate line for base jacks and U-head jacks, which are priced per piece

Rental Rate Structure

Rental is normally charged one of two ways:

  • Per piece, per month — each standard, ledger and jack has a monthly rate; total = sum of pieces × rate × months
  • Per square metre of covered area, per month — simpler for facade access jobs where the scaffold wraps a building

On top of the rental you'll have a refundable security deposit (a multiple of one month's rent), transport both ways, and GST. Loading/unloading and any damaged-piece charges on return are itemised separately.

Approximate Component Weights (for estimating)

ComponentSizeApprox. weight
Standard (vertical)3.0 m~18–20 kg
Standard2.0 m~12–13 kg
Standard1.0 m~6–7 kg
Ledger (horizontal)2.0 m~9–10 kg
Ledger1.2 m~6 kg
Base jack / U-head jack600 mm~5–6 kg

Weights vary by manufacturer and wall thickness — treat these as indicative for working out freight and a purchase budget, not exact figures. See our full cuplock weight chart for more detail.

What Moves the Final Number

  • Quantity — larger orders get a better per-unit rate
  • Duration — longer rentals often get a lower monthly rate; very short rentals may carry a minimum
  • City / distance — freight from our Jaipur yard is a real cost line; nearby cities are cheaper to serve
  • Finish and grade — galvanised, heavy-gauge, certified stock costs more but is safer and lasts
  • Deposit — refundable, but it's working capital you tie up for the project

Rent or Buy?

For a single project or occasional use, renting almost always wins once you add storage, maintenance and transport to the purchase cost. Buying only makes sense with a continuous pipeline of work over several years and your own yard. We cover the full comparison in Rent vs Buy Scaffolding.
